"100% job guarantee!" It's on half the posters in Kanpur. Sometimes in bold red. Sometimes with a smiling stock photo of someone in a tie who has definitely never been to Kanpur.

We offer a Job Guarantee Card* ourselves, so we understand why these words work. Everyone wants certainty. Parents especially. But we also know how easy it is to misuse that phrase, and how much trust it costs the whole education sector when people get burned. So let's talk about it honestly, including how ours works and what its conditions really mean.

Why "job guarantee" sounds better than it often is

Think about what's being promised. An institute can train you. It can connect you to employers. It can prepare you for interviews. What it can't do is control whether a company decides to hire you on a particular day, or whether you turn up on time for that interview.

So any real job guarantee has to have conditions. That's not a trick. That's just the reality of how hiring works. The question isn't whether conditions exist. It's whether they're fair, clear and written down before you pay.

What a fair job guarantee should include

A genuine one usually has these things in common. The conditions are written, not just spoken. They're specific, like attendance percentages and performance requirements, not "subject to management discretion" on everything. They're shown to you before you enrol. And they make sense, meaning they ask you to do things that a reasonable employer would also expect.

If a counsellor can't show you the written policy, or changes the topic when you ask, that's your answer.

Red flags to watch for

We've heard plenty of stories from students who came to us after trying other places. Without naming anyone, these are the patterns that should make you pause.

A guarantee with no conditions at all, or "100% guaranteed, don't worry about the details". A fixed salary figure promised before anyone has assessed your skills. Pressure to pay the full fee on the first visit. A policy that only appears after you've paid. Refund terms that nobody can explain clearly. And "placement" that turns out to mean being sent a list of job portals.

Again, none of these automatically mean a scam. But they're good reasons to slow down, ask more and compare.

How the JDBS Job Guarantee Card works

Here's ours, in plain language.

Eligible candidates enrolled in our programs receive a Job Guarantee Card*. It reflects our confidence in our training, our industry partnerships and our career support. It is not a free pass, and we say that openly at admission.

To stay eligible, you need:

  • successful completion of your course
  • minimum attendance as per institute rules
  • satisfactory performance during training and your internship
  • professional conduct throughout
  • participation in the interviews arranged for you
  • compliance with institute rules and placement guidelines

The institute decides eligibility based on these criteria. The full wording is on our terms page, and we'd encourage you to read it before you sign anything, with your parents if possible.

What about salary?

We don't promise a fixed figure. Career opportunities for our students start from ₹2.5 LPA and go up to ₹10 LPA*, depending on skills, performance, industry requirements and the employer's own selection. Anyone guaranteeing you an exact salary before you've even started is guessing, or worse.

Why our conditions look the way they do

Every one of those conditions is something an employer will also expect from you. Companies want people who finish what they start, show up, perform, behave professionally and turn up for interviews. Our card just asks you to practise those habits during your course.

Honestly, students who meet these conditions tend to do well in the job market anyway. The card is a safety net and a commitment from our side. The real work still happens through the paid practical training eligible students start in their first month. We covered how that works in our post on learn while you earn in Kanpur, and what to check in any internship program in our guide to paid internship courses in Kanpur.

What a guarantee can't do for you

One more honest point. Even the best job guarantee in the world doesn't replace effort. We've seen students treat the card like a ticket and coast through their internship, then act surprised when companies weren't impressed. We've also seen quiet students who simply showed up every day, did solid work and got picked up quickly.

The difference was never the card. It was the habits. So if you join any program with a guarantee, use it as motivation to meet the conditions, not as permission to relax.

Questions to ask any institute, including us

Take these with you:

  1. Can I see the job guarantee policy in writing today?
  2. What exactly makes a student ineligible?
  3. What kind of companies do you place students with? Can you name some?
  4. What salary range is realistic, and what does it depend on?
  5. Can I speak to a past student?

For the record, companies we work with include Havells, Astral Pipes, Supreme, Lohia Group, Superhouse Group, Rimjhim Ispat and others. And you can hear from past students on our testimonials page.

A note for parents

Parents often ask us whether the card means their child will definitely be placed. Our answer is always the same: it means we're committed to helping eligible students get placed, and we've written down exactly what "eligible" means so there are no surprises. Read the terms together with your child. If anything is unclear, ask us to explain it in Hindi, in English or in whatever way makes sense to you.

A guarantee is only as good as the honesty behind it

Our advice? Treat any job guarantee, ours included, as one factor in your decision, not the whole decision. Look at the training, the real work experience, the companies and the people. If all of that is solid, a fair guarantee is a nice extra layer of security.

If you'd like to read our policy line by line with a counsellor, visit us in Govind Nagar, call 7081107037, or apply online and we'll set up a time. Bring every doubt you have. We'd rather answer them now than have you find a surprise later.
